Alba Consult’s principal consultant is Dr Kenneth MacTaggart. He was Chief Economist of Highlands and Islands Enterprise during the 1990s, and subsequently Director of Strategy. Later, he was responsible for the development of the Knowledge and ICT sectors of the economy in the northern half of Scotland.
Prior to working in economic development, Ken was in business journalism in London and Bahrain. He was editor of Export Times newspaper and Property International magazine, winning several writing awards, and has written on international business for many national and international publications.
Ken MacTaggart has a PhD in Technology Policy from Aston University in Birmingham, England, which was partly undertaken at the Gesamthochschule Wuppertal, Germany, and a BA (Hons) in Social Studies. He continues to write, publish and speak on a range of subjects including business, technology, history and culture.
